Research Assistant: Horticulture (three Years (3) Fixed Term Contract)

Job Description
- Providing research support and performing routine activities under supervision.
- Assisting with data collection.
- Providing verbal/written feedback on work activities to supervisors.
- Adhering to quality, health and safety standards.
- Assisting in maintenance of equipment.
- Communicating with growers and farming staff as part of on-farm research activities where necessary.
- Grade 12 with Biology or Agricultural Science as subject.
- A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a fruit farming or scientific research environment.
- Experience in aspects of soil science and/or soil microbiology will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and work systematically with attention to detail.
- Ability to work physically hard in the field.
- Good communications skills (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of Organizational Health and Safety regulations.
- Computer literacy in MS Office Suite.
- Valid driver's licence (Code EB).
