We're looking for an Intern - Research Assistance - Hoogekraal (Scandinavia 35km outside Potchefstroom)

At Corteva Agriscience, you will help us grow what's next. You will be part of a team that is building the future of agriculture - leading breakthroughs in the innovation and application of science and technology. In this role, you will use your research/agricultural experience to serve as a team member in the Breading team to conduct planning, planting, data collection and harvesting of Research phenotyping activities for Maize.

You Will Be Part of Growing Team

Research and Development

Your Challenge:

• Responsible to support the breading team in their activities that can range from seed preparation, planting, crop maintenance, data collection and harvesting
• Works as part of a team to plan and execute experiments efficiently and accurately within seasonal deadlines
• Interact within all programs at the station to learn from the different divisions for your development
• Participate in safety specific to direct work environment to identify and communicate potential risks and benefits
• Give regular feedback to track development

Serve as a team member in the Hoogekraal Breading team

Qualifications

To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

• Bachelor's degree in agriculture or Diploma in scientific related field
• Background in agronomy
• Ability to make timely decisions, assist to solve problems and build consensus
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills are required for fostering teamwork, enhancing a good working environment, and effectively developing strong working relationships with a diverse group of people
• Ability to supervise
• Technical and mechanical skills is beneficial
• Proficiency in Office software such as spreadsheets, mail, calendar and presentation software.
• Always comply with safety regulations and country laws
• High workload with long hours and weekend work during seasonal peaks
• Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather
• Valid driver's license is required
