The main purpose of this position is to: 1) coordinate DTHFxe2x80x99s Khulani Siphile Siphuhle PhD Training Program (KiSS-TP; ), and 2) provide research assistance and coordination support for DTHF-Eastern Capexe2x80x99s Site

Minimum Requirements:

  • Masterxe2x80x99s in public health, Social Sciences or related field
  • 2 years of research experience
  • 2 years of program planning, organizing and management experience
  • Must have experience in conducting literature reviews
  • Must have experiencing using a reference management software to manage bibliographic data and related research materials
  • Excellent communication skills- writing and oral
  • Computer skills xe2x80x93 Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, REDCAP, Outlook
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem solving and detail orientated
  • Team player, as well as the ability to work independently
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management
  • Decision making & analytical skills
  • Adaptive to change
  • Ability to multi-task
Advantageous:
  • Experience conducting systematics reviews is highly desirable
  • Coordinating training programs
  • Mixed methods research experience
  • First author publication in a peer reviewed journal
  • Valid code 8 driverxe2x80x99s license
Responsibilities:

KiSS-TP Program Coordination
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Khulani Siphile Siphuhle PhD Training Program (KiSS-TP)
  • Maintain regular communication with the KiSS-TP Leadership Group (LG)
  • Manage and coordinate trainee recruitment, interviews, selection, orientation, logistics
  • Manage program monitoring and evaluation
  • Meet with KiSS-TP Director on a weekly basis to provide student and program updates and manage activities
  • Participate in all committee meetings and meet as needed with the Multiple PIs to manage program activities and financial matters.
  • Take, edit and distribute meeting notes to LG
  • Coordinate communications to the Training Advisory Committee
  • Schedule all meetings are requested
  • Coordinate the development of the KiSS-TP website
  • Work with the financial team to monitor the budget and execute subcontracts to fund trainees
  • Provide ongoing support to KiSS trainees regarding budgets, timelines, institutional review boards, coursework, program activities, mentors, travel, site logistics, and health and safety concerns
  • Compile the annual progress reports in collaboration with the MPIs and the financial analyst
  • Manage and coordinate the KiSS-TP bi-weekly Seminar Program, including inviting speakers and managing
  • Communicate with other Fogarty D43 program coordinators to develop new resources for Fogarty fellows and programmatic collaborations
Research Assistance and Coordination
  • Provide research and administrative support to the Principal Investigator and other research staff
  • Assist PI with any presentations that need to be done on the study data or on calls or at meetings Monitor academic literature on topics of request
  • Conduct in-depth literature reviews as requested
  • Manage reference database for Site Lead
  • Manage research protocol ethics submissions
  • Administratively manage regulatory binders for research studies
  • Manage database of data collection tools and measures used in research studies
  • Manage intellectual resources of DTHF-EC site
  • Assisting in developing resources for project management
