Job Summary A well-established bank is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Reporting Analyst to join its Credit Division. This position plays a critical role in regulatory compliance, financial disclosure, and credit impairment reporting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and demonstrate strong technical and regulatory knowledge, particularly within the banking and credit sectors. This position is based in Durban.
Responsibilties
Regulatory Submissions: Prepare and submit periodic regulatory reports to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), ensuring timely responses to any queries or audit requests.
Financial Disclosure & Audit Support: Compile and prepare financial disclosure information required for the Bank's annual and bi-annual financial statements. Support external and internal audits by gathering data and coordinating responses across relevant departments.
Credit Risk Reporting: Conduct analysis and reporting of daily and monthly credit data to the South African Credit and Risk Reporting Association (SACRRA), and resolve any data-related queries.
Impairments & IFRS 9 Compliance: Manage monthly impairment processes, including running the IFRS 9 model and preparing specific and portfolio impairment schedules in compliance with financial reporting standards.
Compliance with National Credit Act (NCA): Prepare and submit quarterly Form 39 and annual compliance reports to the National Credit Regulator (NCR). Stay abreast of regulatory changes and implement branch-wide policies and procedures to ensure NCA compliance.
Home Loans & Mortgage Disclosure Reporting: Handle quarterly and annual submissions related to the Home Loans and Mortgage Disclosure Act. Facilitate coordination with auditors for related inspections and audits.
Executive Reporting: Compile financial and credit data for internal presentation materials, including monthly slides for executive management.
Data Integrity & Reconciliation: Perform ongoing reconciliations across key reporting systems to ensure consistency and accuracy of financial and credit information.
Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring reporting functions using tools like Power BI. Draft technical specifications to support system development initiatives.
Ad Hoc Requests: Support management with various data requests and special reporting assignments as they arise.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Additional qualifications or certifications in risk, auditing, or analytics will be advantageous.
Minimum 2 years' experience in the banking sector, specifically in credit or financial reporting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Familiarity with CreditLens and DIX systems preferred.
Strong knowledge of credit-related legislation and regulatory frameworks.
