Role Purpose
The Reporting Analyst for Medical Advisory Services is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful reports that support clinical decision-making, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role involves extracting and analyzing healthcare-related data, developing dashboards, and producing reports that inform medical risk assessments, claims management, and service performance within the financial services environment.
Requirements
Qualifications

  • Valid Matric Certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Health Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
Knowledge
  • Understanding medical terminology, claims data, or healthcare risk models (essential).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Duties & Responsibilities
INTERNAL PROCESS
Reporting & Data Management
  • Design, develop, and maintain recurring and ad hoc reports for Medical Advisory Services.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reporting outputs.
  • Collaborate with data teams to source and validate clinical and operational data.
Analysis & Insight Generation
  • Analyze trends in medical claims, risk assessments, and service utilization.
  • Provide actionable insights to support medical underwriting, case management, and policy development.
  • Identify anomalies, risks, and opportunities through data interrogation.
Dashboard Development & Automation
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards using tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Automate reporting processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure dashboards are user-friendly and aligned with stakeholder needs.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with medical advisors, actuaries, and operational teams to understand reporting requirements.
  • Present findings in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support audit and compliance reporting as required.
CLIENT
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Deliver on service level agreements applicable to clients and internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure that client expectations are managed.
  • Make recommendations to improve client service and fair treatment of clients within area of responsibility.
  • Participate and contribute to a culture which builds rewarding relationships, facilitates feedback and provides exceptional client service.
  • Continuously monitor turnaround times and quality standards and resolve issues speedily to enhance client service delivery.
  • Drive client service delivery goal achievement in line with predefined standards in order to ensure that clients receive appropriate advice and after sales service.
  • Manage client query processes and ensure that queries are tracked, accurately resolved and used as a mechanism to improve client service and business processes.

  • Build strong relationships through providing specialist know-how and leadership to others, expressing positive expectations.
  • Continuously develop own expertise in terms of industry and subject matter development and application thereof in an area of specialisation.

  • Escalate unresolved policy and governance compliance issues via appropriate channels for investigation and resolution purposes.
  • Provide input into the risk identification processes development and communicate recommendations in the appropriate forum.
