Job Description



PURPOSE OF THE JOB





The purpose of this position is to manage all remuneration, benefits and HR data analytics practices within Pepkor Speciality, including the ownership of Payroll.





The successful candidate will lead a team, who will ensure that the approved employee benefits are delivered to all Pepkor Speciality employees and he/she will take accountability for the full payroll function of the group to ensure that the employees and relevant third parties are accurately and timeously paid according to a contractual agreement and specific procedures and legislation.





This position reports to the

Chief Executive: Human Resources.



Key Responsibilities



Team Management

Planning, organising, and managing a payroll, benefits, and data team comprising a total of 8 team members. Direct reports include Payroll Manager, HRIS Analyst and Benefits Coordinator.

Payroll Management

Accountable for the delivery of the Speciality Group Payroll function within the company approval framework and legislative requirements. The payroll team consists of a Payroll Manager and six payroll administrators. The position also oversees the compliance and governance of one off-site payroll.

Systems Management

Responsible for the overall remuneration and benefits systems, including integration between 3rd parties and new systems. Implementing system and process improvements with the Pepkor IT department to improve approval frameworks, processes, employee communication and dashboard reporting. (enablement in the GSuite environment).

Compliance

Critically review and analyse current payroll, benefits and tax procedures to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.

Remuneration management

Set best practices, critical path and process improvement for all necessary deliverables on the Remuneration calendar, including the salary increase process, and legislative updates/compliance to SD 9, short-term incentive scheme payments, package structuring and annual bonus payments.

Benefits Management

Developing a medium-term benefits road map (2 years) for the Pepkor Speciality group (Signed off plan) and managing delivery to the plan. Accountable for the delivery of all existing benefits to the business via the Remuneration and Benefits team. Oversee the delivery of all medical offerings in the business (Medical aid, occupational health, and Medical Insurance)

To provide professional administration Support to the various Company retirement and provident funds:

Manage retirement funds in accordance with the Fund Rules, as guided by the Retirement fund consultants.

Data Analytics Reporting:

Guiding the HR Information system analyst to design and deliver a suite of HR dashboards to various brands of the business to enable business decisions and reporting. HR Analytical Reporting: build, maintain and enhance data for monthly HR analytics through defined channels (Looker Studio/GSuit platforms)

Qualifications




Grade 12 with a B.Com degree or a relevant/similar qualification



SARA registered Reward Specialist will be an advantage

Knowledge, Skills and Experience



Minimum of 3 years of experience in the coordination of the salary increase process in a business and in the administration of benefits 5 years of management experience in leading a team of Remuneration or payroll specialists in the delivery of their respective portfolios. A proven track record in the development and implementation of policies related to remuneration and benefits. 3 years of experience in the management and processing of payroll in RSA. It will be advantageous if they have experience in managing payroll in other African countries. Knowledge of Payroll systems and the data that can be extracted for remuneration analytics and a proven track record in converting this data into meaningful company reports/dashboards. An understanding of all relevant taxation and related remuneration legislation, as well as a grasp of the legal framework regarding fringe benefits, medical aids and remuneration. (RSA) * Proven application of ADVANCED EXCEL/GOOGLE SHEETS coupled with a demonstrated track record of working with extensive data and creating automated dashboards in BI reporting tools.
