We have a terrific fully remote (in SA) opportunity for an innovative PR Account Manager to work on the Consumer Tech PR & Digital portfolio at a leading, specialist Tech-focused PR agency, working with clients across Africa.

Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Account Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of client accounts and campaigns, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standard. Quality assured delivery of the team and its outputs including proposals and pitches.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with consumer tech clients, acting as their primary point of contact (with support from the AD) and ensuring their needs and goals are met.
  • Campaign Development: Manage the development and implementation of innovative PR and digital marketing campaigns that align with client objectives ensuring they resonate with target consumer tech audiences (with support from AD/BUD and our digital team).
  • Digital Campaign Management: Coordinate and manage Consumer Digital marketing and social media campaigns for optimum results with our digital team.
  • Media Relations: Drive key media coverage for your clients with the support of a journalist writer and media relations specialist.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and effective communication between all parties.
  • Market Insights: Stay up to date with the latest consumer tech trends and insights to inform and inspire creative solutions for clients.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide clients with monthly reports and regular updates on campaign performance, using insights to make recommendations.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
  • Matric - essential
  • Relevant Degree - essential
  • 2+ years in an Account Manager role at an agency or 3+ years in-house PR & Communications at management level
  • Consumer Tech experience, or financial consumer or similar experience.
  • Solid understanding of the local tech landscape - essential
  • Existing tech, business and consumer media relations - critical
  • Press and digital writing experience - advantageous
  • Experience using Google Workspace - advantageous
  • Active and clear on commercial value on social media channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok)
  • Proactively remain abreast of tech and consumer trends and industry knowledge
  • Self-study search in order to develop both technical and soft skills
