Remote Financial Controller - UK Based Serviced Apartment Company
Location: Remote Work - South Africa based
Hours: Full-time (37 hrs/week)
Reports to: Managing Director
As our clients business continue's to grow, we're seeking a Remote Financial Controller / Finance Operations Assistant to take ownership of our day-to-day finance operations, ensuring our leadership team can focus on strategic growth and expansion.

Key Responsibilities
As our Remote Financial Controller, you will oversee the company's financial operations, working closely with Directors, Operations teams, and external accountants. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Processing supplier invoices and maintaining accurate records in Xero or QuickBooks
  • Managing the finance inbox and ensuring smooth communication
  • Tracking outgoing payments and ensuring timely supplier payments
  • Reconciling bank transactions and matching payments
  • Monitoring incoming funds from OTAs (Booking.com, Airbnb, etc.)
  • Assisting with weekly and monthly cashflow management
  • Preparing payment runs for Director approval
  • Supporting month-end processes and financial reporting
  • Chasing outstanding payments and ensuring rent/management fees are up to date
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring data consistency
  • Assisting in financial statement preparation, budgets, and audits
  • Collaborating with departments to collect necessary financial data
Minimum Requirements
Skills & Experience
We're looking for a candidate who brings:
  • 2+ years' experience in finance, accounts, or bookkeeping
  • Experience in hospitality or serviced apartments (hotels experience accepted)
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Proficiency with Xero, QuickBooks, Excel, and Google Sheets
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage deadlines independently
  • Excellent written communication skills for clear and professional email correspondence
  • Comfortable working remotely and managing your own schedule
  • Bonus: prior experience in property or serviced accommodation
