The core responsibilities of the position include:
Overseeing and conducting in-depth analysis of asset performance to eliminate recurring defects, identify necessary spare parts, and improve overall asset reliability.
Overseeing and managing condition monitoring activities, including vibration analysis, tribology, and thermography.
Identifying, investigating, motivating, and implementing changes related to the safe and effective performance of the various machine centers.
Working closely with the departmental Maintenance Planner to ensure that equipment reliability tasks are programed into the CMMS (checks and inspections).
Providing support to the department's maintenance team especially in the event of significant breakdowns.
Having an active management role during outages and assisting the maintenance team in managing the shutdown workload.
Staying informed about technological advancements to address equipment and system obsolescence promptly.
Conducting thorough failure analyses for all breakdowns and examines failure data to prevent recurrence.
Conducting Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses on critical problem areas and develops recommendations for new or updated preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
Identifying training needs and training providers to improve the skill base, mentor apprentices or trainee technicians.
Planning and managing improvement projects related to their investigations.
Keeping abreast of technological advancements and provides recommendations for improvements to existing systems.
Providing standby support to the plant, ensuring management assistance is available for after-hours operations.
Conducting incident investigations and ensures the completion of all necessary documentation and notifications.
The core requirements of this position include:
Minimum requirements are a BSc. Engineering or B. Engineering University Degree.
Knowledge and Competency in problem solving techniques, as well as root cause and fault-finding experience.
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Maximo/SAP, Word etc.), report writing skills and presentation skills.
Clear leadership qualities with the ability to co-ordinate maintenance tasks, shutdowns and project work .
The ability to work in a manufacturing team and interface with all members of the team.
A proactive and solid work ethic.
Knowledge of Maximo as a CMMS is an advantage.
