The Regulatory Officer is responsible for ensuring that the bank complies with all regulatory requirements and industry standards. This includes monitoring and reporting on regulatory changes, developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures, and conducting regular audits to ensure adherence to regulations. The Regulatory Officer will also liaise with regulatory bodies and government agencies to address any issues or concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze regulatory changes and developments that may impact the bank's operations
Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to regulations
Conduct regular audits and reviews of bank operations to assess compliance with regulatory requirements
Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings as required by regulatory bodies
Liaise with regulatory bodies and government agencies to address compliance issues, inquiries, and inspections
Provide guidance and training to bank staff on regulatory requirements and best practices
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as legal, risk management, and operations, to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements
Stay informed of industry best practices and standards related to regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Business, Law, or related field
3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance within the banking sector
Knowledge of banking regulations, laws, and industry standards
Strong analytical and research skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented and organized
Professional certification in regulatory compliance (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) is a plus
