Job Description

A global leading crop protection company is seeking an experienced Regulatory Manager to lead the team, ensuring the registration and registration renewals of products is in accordance with South African laws and regulations.
Minimum requirements for the role:

  • Must have a Bachelors degree in Agriculture or Natural Sciences or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years relevant regulatory experience is essential
  • Must have experience in managing a team and influencing across departments
  • The ability to write trial protocols, attention to detail with high ethical standards and integrity are important for this role
  • Must be able to work in a multi-cultural environment with strong analytical, technical and entrepreneurial attitude
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Developing the registration strategy for the crop protection portfolio, new products as well as renewals, maintenance and updates of registered products.
  • Devising, managing, preparing and submitting registration dossiers for South Africa and managing registration schedule through liaison with the project team to achieve timeous registration that will generate new sales.
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities and pro-actively guiding field trialists and crop teams on regulatory requirements for individual development projects including protocol planning for residue trials.
  • Budgeting for and managing residue analyses that are critical for new product registration approvals.
  • Managing the Product Labels and ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities.
  • Managing and developing the Regulatory team.
  • Developing and maintaining a professional work relationship with regulatory authorities.
  • Ensuring all product labels are kept up to date and are compliant.
  • Keeping accurate records of up to date label information and communicating timeously any changes to ensure compliance on labels of commercial products.
  • Maintaining the Registration timeline list and reporting to head office.
  • Managing product development process on a local level in coordination with the Technical Manager.
  • Derive product development, re-registration and launch support needs (trials, protocol)
  • Ensuring the needed planning and implementation of the related project actions (e.g. trials, studies) for South Africa.
