Regulatory & Compliance Specialist Chem/Petro/Oil & Gas

Join a global manufacturing leader as a Regulatory and Compliance Specialist, playing a critical role in ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements for producing and selling chemical products.
This role is ideal for a meticulous, self-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to safeguarding compliance across all regulatory fronts. You will manage key compliance systems, interface with both local and international regulatory frameworks, and support product integrity from development through distribution.
Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Regulatory, Compliance, Risk, Chemistry or Engineering
• Minimum 5 years in regulatory compliance (preferably within a chemical plant)
• 510 years in a process or chemical manufacturing environment

Technical Knowledge:

• In-depth understanding of GHS, ISO 9001/14001/45001, REACH, FDA, NSF, Halaal, Kosher, BfR
• Familiarity with the South African regulatory landscape, OHS Act, and governance standards
• Competence with systems generating SDS, labels, and tremcards

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure full regulatory compliance of chemical products, including SDS, labels, and tremcards
• Conduct internal and external audits to ensure alignment with legal and corporate requirements
• Maintain compliance systems and regulatory documentation
• Monitor and report on regulatory changes impacting operations
• Develop policies, procedures, and training for compliance adherence
• Liaise with stakeholders and authorities on compliance matters
• Manage incidents and non-conformances related to compliance
• Drive continuous improvement and contribute to POPIA compliance
