Registered Nurse (surgical Ward)
Job Description
A private hospital group with the aim of putting high quality healthcare within everybody's reach is looking for a Registered Nurse (Surgical Ward) to join their Surgical Ward team at their day hospital based in Soweto, Johannesburg.
The Registered Nurse (Surgical Ward) is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients recovering from surgical procedures. The role ensures the delivery of compassionate, patient-centred care in line with best practice standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
The Registered Nurse (Surgical Ward) plays a crucial role in monitoring patient recovery, managing post-operative care, and supporting patients and their families throughout the surgical recovery process.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a surgical ward or related environment.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, post-operative care, and pain management.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Advanced Life Support (ALS) is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
