A retirement village based in Somerset West has an exciting opening for a Registered Nurse to join their team and be part of a community that values compassion and excellence

As a Registered Nurse in the retirement facility, youxe2x80x99ll play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of the residents.

Competencies:

• Sound judgement and initiative
• Able to act independently and implement improvements
• Liaise between residentxe2x80x99s family, multidisciplinary team and management
• Give direct supervision and guidance to team members
• Conflict Management
• Recognize and co-ordinate the functions of healthcare
• Mostly day but needs to be available at night if need be.

Patient Care:

• Provide compassionate and personalized nursing care to our elderly residents.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, mobility, and toileting.
• Monitor vital signs, assess health conditions, and promptly report any changes to the medical team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, therapists, and social workers.
• Develop individualized care plans for each resident.
• Foster a supportive and respectful environment for both residents and their families.

Emotional Support:

• Understand the unique needs of aging individuals, including those with cognitive impairments.
• Provide emotional support to residents and their families during challenging times.
• Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the facility.

Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Education: A valid nursing degree (associate or bachelorxe2x80x99s) and current RN licensure.
• Experience: Previous experience in geriatric care is preferred.
• Compassion: A genuine desire to improve the quality of life for the residents.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Adaptability: Ability to handle diverse situations and adapt to changing needs.
