Job Description

Our client is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) / Professional Nurse (PN) with proven UROLOGY experience. This is for fixed shifts at a private practice group in Pretoria (Gauteng).
Period: January 2026 - April 2026 (off over Dec 2025)
Hours: Mon - Friday 08:00 - 17:00
In January paid training will be provided.
Requirements

• Valid SANC licence
• Must have own indemnity insurance cover
• At least 6 months working experience in an Urology environment is essential
• A good understanding and application of the nursing scope of practice
• Knowledge of clinical procedures, relevant nursing legislation, the Scientific Nursing Process and BCA bundles
• Management of surgical equipment and instruments
• Infection prevention and control (IPC) principles and protocols
• Risk management
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Own transport

Key Outputs

• Uro-dynamic studies (for Gauteng Urology as well as other dr referred patients)
• Assist dr's in Stent removal procedures in rooms as well set up of scope for stent removal.
• Assist drs in Scope procedures in rooms.
• Responsible for all the stock that is necessary for UDS studies and stent removals in rooms.
• BCG Bladder Cancer installations (only Gauteng Urology practice)
• Teaching patients to Self-catheterisation - Register on Coloplast programme
• Changing of catheters - supra-pubic or urethral
• Nursing duties like:

• Removing clips
• Removing stents
• Removing catheters
• Small wound care
• Giving of injections
• Collecting of midstream urine
• Uro-flow studies
• Healthcare information on urology patients
• Stock control and ordering of stock for practices
• PMA and application for chronic medication forms
• Quotations, billing and payments on uro-dynamic patients and BCG patients on Vericlaim
• Traveling between 3 urology practices
