Job Description
Our client, a leader in the private healthcare industry, is urgently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) / Professional Nurse (PN) with work experience as Patient Safety Manager. This is an opportunity to work a 3 month contract at a private hospital in Cape Town.
Working hours will be Mon to Friday from 06:30 to 15:30 approximately.

- Registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse
- Available immediately
- Preferably own transport
- 3 years of Professional Nurse experience in a hospital
- 1 year Infection Prevention Control link nurse experience
- Nursing qualification (degree or diploma)
- Risk or Patient Safety Management qualification
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB : To improve and sustain the patient safety behaviour, outcomes and culture in the hospital. This starts with the identification, reporting and analysis of clinical patient harm events and the use of these findings to plan, facilitate and execute improvement work.l
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Identify, report and investigate Patient Safety using systems analysis methodology.
- To lead the Patient Safety culture at the hospital through Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and awareness of patient safety risks and mitigation methods.
- Identify training needs in the hospital to enable and build a Patient Safety and Quality Improvement culture
- Manage and oversee clinical audits and accreditations and ensure compliance with Statutory and Regulatory requirements including MedicoLegal investigations.
- To provide support to the hospital regarding Infection Prevention Control and management in the absence of the Infection Prevention and Control Specialist.
