Job Description

ECHO Foundation was founded in 1991. It is a registered Section 21 Company, established as a non-profit company. The Foundation houses over 1,500 residents within its villages and frail care facilities.

ECHO Foundation is searching for a Registered Nurse to join the team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor that Residents have received full care as required for Frail aged people. Ensure staff carry out instructions on Holistic care of the Resident's at all times. Identify problems; work out standard care plans and hand the plans to the Nursing Services Manager; continue to monitor until the problem is resolved. Do routine observations of residents, including HGT, BP, temp, pulse and weight, as well as dressings. Provide wound care and manage infections. Charting and reporting observations as needed. Doctors' rounds. Manage the team on shift. Ensure that nursing supplies inventory are maintained. Prepared to work night duty.
Qualifications required:

Grade 12 Nursing Diploma Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse Police Clearance
Skills required:

First Aid. Geriatric care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong administrative and organizational skills. Management of a team. Customer service orientated. Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices. Attention to detail. High tolerance for working under pressure and handling critical situations calmly. Good time management skills. Proficient in MS Office. Ability to work as part of a team and to handle multiple tasks safely and effective.
Work Experience:

At least 5 years general nursing experience At least 2 years supervisory experience
