Job Description
- Strong commitment to delivering quality patient care
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Guide, supervise, and support junior staff and students, including conducting teaching rounds
- Skilled in administering oral medication and performing wound care
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with high energy and resilience
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and accurate record-keeping abilities
- Flexible and collaborative within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels
- Capable of providing both basic and advanced nursing care independently
- Participate in ongoing training and development, including presenting formal and informal sessions
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, policies, and best practices
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control measures
- Promote patient health and provide health education
- Apply the nursing process effectively, from assessment to implementation of care plans
- Ensure safe administration and management of medications, including scheduled drugs
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and policy adherence
- Perform additional duties as required
- Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse
- Post-basic qualification in Critical Care (General) is advantageous
- At least 23 years ICU experience as a Registered Nurse
- Proficiency in ventilator management (essential)
- Willingness to work shifts and overtime when needed
