Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization, angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker insertion, and other interventional procedures.
Assist cardiologists and the clinical team during invasive cardiac procedures.
Monitor patients vital signs, administer medications, and manage emergencies effectively.
Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
Operate and monitor relevant equipment, including hemodynamic monitoring systems.
Perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery, and lifestyle adjustments.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and ensure adherence to hospital policies and best practices.
Participate in continuous professional development, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements:
Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum of 23 years experience in a Cath Lab environment.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Proven knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and interventional procedures.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, standby, and overtime when required
