A global pharmaceutical company has a vacancy for a Regional Sales Manager. Job Purpose:
To coach the sales force, ensuring that sales targets for the region is achieved and the marketing strategy successfully executed.
Ensure time in field, call rate and coverage targets are achieved.
Interaction with Customers, ensuring relationships are built and maintained
Main Duties and Responsibilities are:
Achievement of Sales vs Budget: Ensure sales budgets are achieved, with strong implementation of the business strategy, to ensure increased market share and a strong presence in industry.
People Management: Effective mentorship and development of team, to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Coaching of Team: Effective and ongoing coaching of team, with very clear outcomes and objectives identified and monitored, by means of regular 1-1's, clear 90-day action plans.
Information Management and Analysis: Leverage management tools viz. SSD, Impact Rx and others, to analyze data on a variety of critical business drivers ranging from coverage and frequency, to time allocation and productivity, with effective territory management as a key outcome.
Compliance: Ensure that all compliance elements are effectively implemented and adhered to:
Forwarding of all received Product Quality Complaints, Adverse Events and Medical Enquiries to the relevant person in Quality Assurance/ Pharmacovigilance/ Medical Affairs
Ensure the availability of training plans according to the direct reports' role profiles within the team.
Ensure all SOP's by team and self is done timeously.
Ensure that the relevant training has been completed according to the training plan.
Travel: The role will require up to 60 % local travel and 5- 6-week sales cycles will be the norm. Occasional country trip co-travel with reportees may occur.
Ad-hoc activities as may be assigned to by authorised managers.
Achieving the annual regional sales Targets and managing a territory expense budget.
Ensuring successful implementation of the marketing strategy.
Attend customer focused functions.
Participating in customer expos.
Attend Company branded functions e.g. CPD functions in conjunction with Key Account Management team.
To implement a territory business plan to accomplish objectives in line with the Sales and Marketing strategy.
Collaboration with Medical, Marketing, Key Accounts & other RSM's within the organisation.
Accountability for the RPI and sales performance of reports.
Qualifying Requirements are:
Related Bachelor's degree (completed)
3-5 Years' Sales Management Experience within the Pharma industry
Knowledge of Qlikview (advantageous)
Strong awareness of the competitor landscape and activity.
Solution oriented with a proven ability to implement initiatives effectively. Strong attention to detail, with analytical insight
Proven track record of performance
Ability to work under pressure, and to tight deadlines
Ability to work in a team across varying areas (e.g Medical, Marketing, KAM;'s, divisions)
Extraordinary ability to build effective relationships in a short space of time. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
Excellent detailing and negotiation skills

MS Office, with Excel at an intermediate level
