MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Manage Sales Team and other resources with a hands-on approach to new business
Develop a sales strategy for Cape Town in conjunction with Senior Management, ensuring financial targets are achieved and a high level of engagement is provided to prospective clients
Create and maintain appropriate internal and external networks to generate a strong flow of new business and create a visible presence in the market place
Maintain strong, profitable relationships with existing clients while driving the acquisition of new business to create a strong pipeline of new business
Responsible for the acquisition and management of key (large) accounts
Over-all responsibility for the sales target in Cape Town Province
Contribute to the formulation of a sales strategy for Trade & Debtor Finance in the country and the over-all Strategy
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Sales Management
Manage sales team and recruit new sales staff where necessary
Achieve contracted growth in book, net income and new client acquisition
Interview prospective clients and view business operations
Provide solutions to prospective clients using the Group's products/services
Actively manage new client relationships through engagement and analysis of information in conjunction with sales team
Attend to all enquiries stemming from new and existing client relationships
Attend monthly marketing meetings where required
Cross sell the services and products
Credit management
Analyse credit risk of new applications and attend all management/executive credit committee meetings
Ensure all control measures relative to the approved facility are covered
Understand prospective clients cash flow cycles
Train/Assist sub-ordinates/team with the preparation of all applications to be sent to Credit Department for approval for existing and prospective clients
Scrutinise credit information required to assess applications
Manage all high-risk clients and formulate a plan to exit relationships where necessary
Admin
Ensure monthly reporting to Head of Division / Manco
Limit any over-due reviews and outstanding securities for the region
Assist/Train sub-ordinates with compilation of credit applications for presentation to the credit committee
SKILLS / MINIMUM REQUIRED
Post graduate qualification in commerce, with a flair for financial analysis. CA qualification an added advantage
A minimum of ten years' commercial banking/lending experience is required in a sales position with a good knowledge of trade and/or debtor finance
At least five years-experience in a management role
Strong networker with existing relevant network (very important)
Strong financial/analytical skills
Understanding of forex markets, a plus
