Job Description


Role purpose:

Serve as primary partner interface for all stakeholders (National Field Operations, ANOC, Region, FFO Suppliers).
Supervise outsourced partners, ensuring the delivery of Network performance targets and SLA's, supporting to Build and operate best network.
20% of daily/monthly activities must focus on physical and on line quality checks of work done at BTS sites by means of sample checks on new sites, upgrades and maintenance. (Build and Operate) - ensure quality compliance, SLA's and legislative requirements are adhered to
Coordinate and schedule all quality inspections by regional staff - align with FFO suppliers on scheduled maintenance activities - (5% samples and allocate to regional staff)
Use checklists provided (on WFM and manual) active and passive maintenance (A,B C service) - feedback on results and capture

Your responsibilities will include:

To oversee the civil maintenance of all Network infrastructure of the region.
Managing all escalations to and from VDC, Suppliers and internal teams - act as a single point of management escalation.
Role also includes analysing trends and identifying potential process issues and improvement plans.
Ensure escalation in the event of the support partners' non-compliance or failure to deliver against SLA's, in line with the defined governance requirements and drive to resolution.
Assist with technical investigations and reporting of any non-conformance deviations to the applicable Vodacom standards, guidelines and quality checklists.
20% of FFO Specialist activities must focus on Quality assurance and supervision of the work performed by outsourced service providers. Quality inspections on line and physical checks of at least a 5 % sample must be done to improve the quality of installation of network BTS equipment (sample checks) - Reporting of any non-conformance and Maintenance FFO SLA for PPM, CPM, APM (environmental alarms ). This data will be used to determine if penalty clauses in contract should be activated.
Ensure repairs to vandalised sites are compliant
Check National PM Office equipment upgrades on site, RAN, MW, RF,
Ensure Correct cable sizes, availability of spares and equipment and that correct tools are used
Check the electrical certificate of compliance issued for correctness.
Assist when necessary the restoration of a site in case of emergency and check quality
Ensure new BTS sites are built according to Vodacom specifications.
Ensure adherence to quality requirements to ensure high level of workmanship at all handover stages
Reporting any deviation of any HSE risks to your line management and HSE Specialist.
Ensure the compliance and risk management e.g. SOX, Health and Safety, SANS 0142 Audit (ISO 14001), ISO 9001, SANS (GMR), OHSA standard compliance and other statutory regulations
Produce various management reports with remedial plans where required and ensure standard documentation is completed and uploaded onto the correct platforms
Breakdown work orders to create notifications by performing daily work order confirmations to provide accurate feedback and generate orders on the WFM system
Assist in Investigating technical/electrical incidents and fires to determine root causes
Ensure that planned maintenance system requirements are met

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Technical / Professional Qualifications:

Matric (Essential)
Minimum N3 electrical or relevant electrical 3 year degree/national diploma qualification
Valid driver's license code 08. Willing to travel.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

3 to 5 years' experience in BTS Telecommunication environment (Essential)
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
Knowledge of quality and environment principles (ISO 9000 certification)
Knowledge of SANS 10142-1/2 Codes and Regulations
Technical specialist that will provide advice on general maintenance of all equipment
Customer Service orientation
Computer literate and is able to use Microsoft word, power point and digital systems.
People orientated, ability to work independently and in a team. Able to work under pressure
Normal vision acuity with the ability to distinguish different colours
Problem solving and analytical skills. Highly motivated, self-driven and results orientated
Good communication, written, verbal, interpersonal skills.
