Job Description

Position Purpose:



The primary purpose of this role is to provide Technical Sales support for Aftersales to clients within the assigned Region, primarily through on-site visits. The role focuses on strengthening customer relationships, identifying sales opportunities and ensuring high levels of service delivery.

The successful candidate is required to reside in either Kathu or Kuruman to ensure efficient Territory coverage.



Duties and Responsibilities

:

Customer Relationship Responsibilities



Customer Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty. Unified Representation: Collaborate closely with Capital and Internal Parts Sales teams to present unified "OneASTEC" to customers. Customer Intelligence: Stay informed about evolving customer requirements and ensure the Astec CRM/database is consistently updated with the latest information. Meeting Cadence: Define and agree on a regular meeting schedule with each customer. Document meeting minutes and ensure timely follow-up on action items. Responsiveness: Address customer requests promptly and provide regular, transparent feedback to keep them informed. Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Be fully aware of any SLAs in place and ensure Astec's service delivery consistently meets or exceeds all agreed upon standards.

Territory Management Responsibilities



Asset Tracking: Maintain a comprehensive and up to date list of all operational Astec equipment within the assigned territory. Competitive Intelligence: Monitor and report on competitor activities, trends and market movements within the territory. Proactive Maintenance Oversight: Actively manage and track equipment maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

Sales Management Responsibilities



Collaborative Analysis: Work closely with Internal Sales Personnel to: Analyze customer sales volume relative to the number of machines in operation within the Region. Identify customers buying patterns to third party suppliers and investigate underlying reasons. Strategic Growth: Develop and implement targeted strategies to Increase Customers' sales volume with Astec. Quotation Management: Follow up on outstanding quotations to drive closure. Investigate and document reasons for lost quotations, communicate findings to the Manager and capture them in the ERP system. Conversion Optimization: Actively contributes to improving quotation conversion rates through customer engagement and value driven proposals. Sales Funnel Development: Proactively build and manage the sales funnel to consistently exceed sales targets.

General Responsibilities



CRM Management: Ensure all customer-related data and interactions are accurately maintained in the Astec CRM system. Administrative Compliance: Adhere to established administrative systems and procedures to support a high level of responsiveness to customer needs. Product Promotion: Actively promote the full range of Astec products. Coordinate with Capital Sales for follow up opportunities. Quality Standards: Ensure full compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) standards in all customer interactions and internal processes.

Qualifications:



Complete Grade 12. A tertiary qualification in sales or a trade would be highly advantageous.

Experience:



5-10 years of experience in a technical sales capacity, preferably within the heavy equipment, mining or industrial sectors. Proven track record of building strong customer relationships and driving sales growth through strategic account management.

Computer Proficiency:



Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office. Familiarity and working experience with CRM systems with the ability to maintain accurate customer data and utilize CRM tools for sales and relationship management.
