Reporting to the Group Accountant, a unique opportunity exists for a dynamic and talented individual to fill the role of Regional Accountant as part of the Corporate Services Division.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial and Tax Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company's tax and statutory compliance as well as month-end reporting and reconciliations. This role requires a deep understanding of South African tax laws and regulations, International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SME) as well as the ability to provide strategic tax and accounting advice to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

: + End of Month reporting - Maintain and reconcile General Ledger accounts. + Prepare disclosures to ensure compliance with IFRS and other Accounting Standards.
+ Assist External Accountant with Independent Review and preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
+ Prepare income tax provisions and deferred tax calculations. + Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information.

Tax Compliance

: + Prepare and file Income Tax returns, Provisional Tax returns, VAT returns, Dividend Tax returns, and other statutory tax filings. + Ensure compliance with all South African Revenue Service (SARS) regulations. + Manage tax audits and disputes with SARS.

Tax Planning and Advisory

: + Develop and implement tax-saving strategies. + Provide tax advice on business transactions and new ventures. + Conduct tax research and stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations.

Risk Management

: + Identify and mitigate tax and accounting risks. + Maintain proper documentation and records for all tax-related activities.

Qualifications

Education

: + Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. + Professional certification as a Tax Practitioner (SA) and Chartered/ Professional Accountant (SAIPA or SAICA).

Experience

: + Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and tax related roles. + Proven experience in preparing and filing various tax returns. + Experience in handling tax audits and disputes.

Skills

: + Strong knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations as well as International Financial Reporting Standards. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. + Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Registration

: + Registration with the

South African Revenue Service (SARS)

as a tax practitioner.

Working Conditions
