Job Description

An esteemed 5-star Hotel in the Constantia Winelands, Cape Town has a vacancy for a Receptionist with at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar 5-star hospitality establishment to join her team.

Applications will be considered only from candidates who will be resident in the area prior to and as from the date of employment.

The key purpose of the position is to effectively communicate with local and international in-house guests and to balance the daily revenue report.

Minimum Experience and Qualification Required:

• Grade 12
• Post matric hotel school qualification would be advantageous
• 1-2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience working in a five-star establishment
• Computer literacy
• Excellent communication skills
• Good numeracy skills
• High level of English proficiency
• Must be motivated, enthusiastic, and energetic
• Must be a team player, with a positive attitude
• Must be willing to work shifts
• Must be able to work under pressure
• Own transport preferable

Key Performance Objectives:

• Handle e-mail requests in a professional and effective manner
• Handle guest inquiries in a professional and effective manner
• Ensure knowledge of hotel room categories and layout of the property
• Ensure knowledge of different offerings at the property
• Resolution of customer complaints
• Sense of ownership
• Management of guest accounts
• Pit checks to be done on each shift daily
• Operate the hotelxe2x80x99s Property Management System: OPERA Cloud
• Check guest in upon arrival and check them out upon departure
• Operate the switchboard and direct calls
• Restaurant bookings and hotel reservations, and
• Effective internal departmental liaison
