At least 3 years' experience in a similar medical administration position
Experience in an oncology practice will be advantageous
Experience with medical aid authorisations is essential
Microsoft office suite experience and computer literate
Medical software experience will be advantageous (PMO & Elixir)
Flexibility to travel to work between three practices on different days of the week

Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare all files for doctors every morning for the day's appointments
Attend staff meeting on Mondays at 8am
Answer phone and assist clients where possible
Make bookings for appointments on diary
Make accurate notes on the system
Prepare letters
Handle all cash receipts where applicable
Assist with authorizations when required
Assist Accountant with queries as and when required (phoning medical aid, etc.)
Assist Accountant with rejections on remittances and resubmit manually and phone medical aids to escalate where necessary
Handle all cash receipts for all 3 practices
Handle all credit card payments
Documents receipts and send proof of payments to Accountant
Upload all notes and follow up details on Elixir
Type Dr's notes from Dictaphone and prepare letters when required
Identify private clients and private portion liability and recover from clients
Private patients should be made aware of what is/will be due when they book an appointment
Prepare quotes when required
Patients to complete new patient and POPI form.
Get a copy of client's ID and Medical aid membership cards
Load new patients on Elixir while they are in waiting room
Perform MSV check on patients to make sure details are correct
Perform MSV updates on existing patients
Ensure proper filing of all documents
* Any other related duties required by management from time to time and/or when another staff member is on leave
