Job Description


Duties and responsibilities:
Stock received securely, accurately and efficiently:

  • Ensure that deliveries are received according to the correct procedures
  • Process claims accurately as required
  • Apply strict receiving controls to minimise loss of stock through theft and damage
An efficient, well-controlled back door:
  • Ensure that deliveries are evenly spaced to facilitate smooth receiving process
  • Reschedule deliveries as needed, depending on space available
  • Liaise with suppliers on bookings where deliveries have been delayed to establish what is happening.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and on time
Stock returned, accurately and efficiently:
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure upliftment of returns and damages
Excellent service to customers:
  • Ensure that stock is always available to customers
  • Ensure that stock is always in a good condition when it is received
A complete understanding of systems, policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs):
  • Familiarise self with all company systems, policies and SOPs.
A clean, safe working and shopping environment:
  • Carry out all daily activities with all occupational health and food safety policies in mind
  • Keep the working environment clean and tidy at all times
Control of loss through shrinkage:
  • Adhere to SOPs in order to minimise shrinkage through theft, poor waste management or damage to product
  • Report any suspicious behaviour to senior management and loss control officers
  • Display respect for company property
A motivated, high performing team:
  • Work to create a stable, reliable team
  • Clarify roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure that the team is trained in order to achieve the required standard.
  • Arrange shifts and schedules
  • Ensure that staff have been trained on all Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Ensure that the team have been trained on the Food Safety Management System
  • Manage time and attendance, taking appropriate disciplinary measures when required
