Underwriter to join our team and play a critical role in evaluating property acquisitions and sales opportunities.
Position Summary:
The Underwriter will be responsible for analyzing and evaluating residential real estate deals to determine investment viability, risk, and profitability. This role requires strong financial analysis skills, an understanding of local housing markets nationwide, and the ability to make quick, data-driven decisions to support our acquisition and disposition strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
? Analyze potential property acquisitions using comparative market analysis (CMA), and resale projections.
? Review market trends, neighborhood data, and local comps to determine accurate property valuations.
? Collaborate with acquisitions managers, acquisitions reps, and leadership to ensure accurate underwriting assumptions.
? Prepare financial summaries and deal sheets for approval by leadership.
? Maintain underwriting database and ensure all property data is accurate and up to date.
? Adjust underwriting models based on changing market conditions and internal performance metrics.
? Support disposition pricing strategies to ensure quick 15 day and profitable sales.
Qualifications:
? 2+ years of experience in real estate underwriting, investment analysis, or related field (residential preferred).
? Strong knowledge of real estate valuation methods and investment metrics (ARV, ROI, cap rate, etc.).
? Proficient with Excel and real estate analysis software (e.g., PropStream, Redfin, MLS systems, etc.).
? Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze large sets of data quickly.
? Strong communication and presentation skills.
? Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Preferred Skills:
? Experience underwriting nationwide or multi-market residential portfolios.
? Familiarity with fix-and-flip, Novation, and wholesale investment models.
? Knowledge of construction estimating and rehab cost analysis.
? Experience working with real estate CRMs or investment platforms.
