Rand Water's Graduate Development Programme is a structured, sector-aligned initiative aimed at capacitating the next generation of professionals in support of sustainable water management. The programme will immerse graduates in a dynamic environment, equipping them with industry-relevant skills aligned to Occupationally Directed Education, Training, and Development Practices (ODETDP).
Graduates will receive training and mentorship in the following focus areas:
Freshwater Aquatic Sciences
Water Technology
Wastewater Technology
Digital Technology and Innovation
Through hands-on training, fieldwork, laboratory work, digital tools application, and applied research, the programme aims to empower participants to meaningfully contribute to the water sector. Ultimately, graduates will be developed to potentially lead key technical streams within the Rand Water Academy Technical School, reinforcing the Academy's long-term strategic intent of technical leadership and innovation.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must hold a relevant Honours qualification (NQF Level 8) in one of the following areas:
Digital Technology and Innovation: Honours in digital technology and innovation with specialisation in relevant fields like Immerging Technologies (IoT, AI and Remote Sensing); Data Science and Analytics; Digital Transformation and Strategy; and Smart Cities and Sustainable Innovation.
Eligibility Criteria:
Unemployed and have no prior work experience related to the qualification
South African citizen with a valid South African ID
Under the age of 35, in line with the National Skills Development Strategy III
Possess a valid Code 08 driver's license (advantageous)
