Job Description


Our client in the Food Industry is looking for a R&D Project Manager to coordinate the development of projects, in conjunction with the customer's needs and the involvement of different internal areas, always taking into account that the most advantageous solution for the business is guaranteed.

Purposes of the Role

  • Ensuring a culture of formula optimization in the team, thinking about the profitability of projects for the business
  • Promote the sharing of technical knowledge across the entire team.
  • Responsible for the entire management of human resources processes inherent to the team (justification of absences; vacation scheduling; identification of training needs, among others
Customer Management
  • Monitoring of customer visits / audits to business
  • Periodic visits to the client, to monitor ongoing projects / production problems / optimizations / new projects, etc. - preparation of report and communication to the structure of corrective / future actions.
  • Promote / guarantee in conjunction with Marketing the realization of proactive presentations to customers.
  • Reporting at the customer's request
  • Preparation / Supervision of responses to complaints related to DIP.
Project Development
  • Reception and briefing analysis, managing team priorities.
  • Monitoring the development process from preparation to sending samples
  • Identify opportunities for improvement / optimization during the projects, in order to enhance additional gains for the business, and thereby increase the differentiating value of the project and contribute to the company's financial profitability.
  • Enhance the sharing of knowledge in a Strand of Lessons Learn acquired in the execution of different projects by the management teams.
  • Evaluate with the team the readjustment of formulas according to the feedback received from the client.
  • Ensure that the team makes the formulas available to the Commercial Department for costing purposes and make any adjustments.
  • Analysis of recyclables generated by the client's PA's and proposed incorporation.
  • Evaluation of the quality of information / parameters contained in the technical data sheets and requested technical documentation (GMOs, Allergens)
  • Ensure the insertion of all project information in a system.
  • Participation in the innovation process
QEFS Responsibilities
  • Know the environmental impacts and the environmental responsibilities associated with the tasks it performs, to contribute to the good environmental performance of the Organization.
  • You will be responsible for food safety within the scope of your work that you perform. If any food safety risks or concerns are noted, report it to your direct line manager immediately.
  • Ensure cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness of the workplace.
  • Knowledge of allergen management principles.
Requirements
  • Higher Education in Food Science
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in Project Manager
  • English and Afrikaans speaking
  • MS Office
