Rates Specialist

We are on the lookout for a full-time Rates Specialist to join our Product Team. The Rates Specialist's main function will be to capture rates provided by all suppliers of Rhino Africa. We are looking for someone with a passion for travel and a flair for numbers.

As our Rates Specialist, you'll be responsible for working with a team of travel experts to ensure that our tour packages are priced competitively and accurately. You'll be the mastermind behind our rates, tweaking and adjusting to make sure we stay ahead of the game in this dynamic industry.

As a Rates Specialist your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

• Capturing rates accurately according to the rate sheets provided by our suppliers;
• Updating rates on a regular basis and (if required) calculating rates accurately;
• Learning and understanding everything about rates within the travel industry;
• Working with external suppliers on a regular basis via telephone and email communication;
• Working with the Product Team to maintain rates-related information;
• Ensuring that rates and supporting information have been captured correctly;
• Working with our sales team to resolve rates-related challenges in daily operations.

Requirements

Our ideal Rates Specialist will possess:

• National Senior Certification/Matric;
• 3 Years experience as a Rates Specialist;
• Previous experience working with Salesforce / Kaptio or similar rates processing software/tools;
• Analytical skills: To be able to analyse market trends and economic data to make informed decisions;
• Attention to detail: To be able to be meticulous in the work, as small errors can have significant consequences;
• Problem-solving skills: The ability to identify and solve problems quickly and effectively;
• Adaptability: The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and market conditions;
• Communication skills: To be able to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders;
• Already be based in Cape Town.

Not essential but advantageous:

• The ability to command additional languages;
• Diploma in Tourism.
