Rail Coordinator
Job Description
Rail Logistics: Continuous monitoring and expediting of railway wagons to ensure timely delivery of raw materials to different sites around the country and including Sasolburg. Daily communication with service providers, contractors and internal customers. Responsible to ensure that the rail off-loading of raw materials takes place in line with specifications and prescriptions at the main factory in Sasolburg. Oversee rail matters related to the safe handling of rail wagons as well as adhering to the requirements as prescribed by the Railway Safety Regulator. Ensure that raw materials are placed on time when requested from the Sasolburg Transnet station to Omnia Sasolburg facilities. Ensure that empty wagons are cleared timeously from the Sasolburg siding to Transnet Sasolburg station. Safety: Ensure safe operation of all railway activities siding and see to good and proper housekeeping of the rail designated areas. Monitor and manage contractors while they are on site by issuing the relevant documentation. Attend regular training to ensure compliance in terms of the Railway Safety Regulator Act as well as other legal requirements such as the OHSA, ISO and other relevant standards.
