Purpose of Job

To ensure reliable and effective analogue and digital wireless communication on the Secunda Sasol complex through dedicated maintenance strategies, development and continuous improvement of the various radio systems.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Conduct fault finding/diagnostics on wireless and microwave systems.

Conduct repairs/maintenance on wireless equipment and associated devices.

Install, repair and maintenance of portable and mobile analogue and digital versions of wireless equipment (Tetra handsets and base stations).

Perform configuration, repairs/replacement of Radio Terminal Unit's (RTU), point to point and point to multi point microwave and associated equipment.

Deliver a service in accordance with customer requirements.

Knowledge and understanding of radio communication theory.

Continued Recruitment Description

Administrative management where necessary.

Adhere to all safety and work procedures and standards.

Adapt and manage change.

Ability to share knowledge.

Ability to perform standby duties and overtime work as and when required.

Compliance to all legal requirements.

Customer satisfaction and a good understanding of customer needs.

Give inputs and participate on continuous improvement initiatives.

Working at heights (radio towers)

Occasional travel between Sasol sites.

Knowledge of Intrinsic safety classification and repairs.

Formal Education

Grade 12 (with Maths, Science and English) or N3 with English as a subject

Electronics/N6 Electrical Engineering (Must)

Red Seal/ Trade Test (Electrical/Instruments)

Formal Education

Post School Tertiary Diploma (South Africa / Eurasia)

Experience: 5+ relevant years
