Minimum of 2 years post graduate industry experience.
Experience must be primarily in the civil industry, i.e. civil infrastructure, knowledge of water and wastewater treatment works and services, as well as buildings will be advantageous.
Experience should include cost estimating and pricing, measurement, contract
documentation and administration, and practical on-site experience would be
advantageous.
Responsibilities:
The candidate must have a thorough understanding of contract and tender documentation, conditions of contract including GCC and FIDIC; as well as measuring systems including SANS.
Professional registration beneficial, preferable PrEng or PrQS.
The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of current market tender prices and must be able to prepare cost estimates as the project develops from order of magnitude to definitive estimates.
Carrying out measurements and valuations to produce accurate project schedules, quantities and valuations at all stages of a project.
Construction contract documentation compilation and procurement processes.
Construction quality control and monitoring, compile and review monthly payment certificates.
Technical writing skills, with good communication and time management skills.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of statutory procedures and technical standards.
Ability to work independently, but also to function well in a team environment.
Ability to integrate and cooperate with other engineering and non-engineering disciplines.
Self motivated candidate with effective communication skills (written and verbal)
