Quality Technician

Job Description

We are are a company within the motor industry and are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our foundry department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that cast metal components meet industry standards and the customer specifications. This role involves inspecting materials and products, monitoring production processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a high-temperature manufacturing environment.

Educational & Training Requirements:



Minimum Grade 12 with quality related certification.

Computer Literacy (MS Office at intermediate level).

Experience in the quality field is advantageous

Experience Required:



Min 3 yeas Foundry experience

Internal auditing qualification/experience

CMM operation experience

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Metrology experience

SPC Knowledge

Knowledge of Quality Process and Customer Standards

IATF 16949 Knowledge

MSA Experience

Job Requirements & Responsibilities:



Ensure that all manufacturing Quality concerns are addressed by auditing the process and following upon on all non-conformances to ensure that there are actions taken within specified time frames to rectify the customer concerns.

Co-ordinate and conduct various quality related functions such as auditing, gauge precision and services etc

Participate in continuous improvement projects

Do all tasks as per quality system requirements.

Problem solving and root cause analysis.

Internal Audits to VDA standard

Implement corrective actions

Attend daily level 2 meetings

Communicate at all levels within the organisation both verbally as well as written.

First-off inspection of manufactured products on co-ordinated measuring machines

Surface roughness tests on manufactured products

Audit inspections with in-process gauges on manufactured products

Inspection of finished goods as per relevant instructions, where applicable packaging of finished goods as per packaging instructions

Analyzing scrap parts as per relevant instructions

Preservation of goods

Hardness tests on manufactured parts

Sectioning on manufactured parts

Coordination of APQP documentation

Follow up on non-conformance to ensure that appropriate action is taken within a specific time frame to rectify issues.
