As a Quality Officer in our Total Quality Management Department at Ampath, you are at the heart of our commitment to excellence. You play a vital role in upholding ISO and SANAS requirements. You will support the quality management team by coordinating impactful training events, enhancing digital systems, and driving precision through effective project and process execution.
Role Requirements
To succeed in this role, you are required to hold:

• a completed National Certificate in Medical Technology
• be registered with the HPCSA as a Medical Technician.

You bring a minimum of three years' experience in Quality Control within a SANAS-accredited pathology laboratory. Your background includes hands-on involvement in accreditation processes and exposure to internal auditing. This is an opportunity for a detail-driven Medical Technician to contribute beyond the bench - bringing coordination, compliance, and confidence to everything we do.
Skill Requirements
You bring a solid understanding of pathology processes, laboratory workflows, and diagnostic test procedures. Your familiarity with quality control processes, inter-laboratory comparison programmes, and data handling ensures accuracy and consistency in quality outcomes. You are well-versed in Quality Management System (QMS) principles and practices, with exposure to electronic documentation and version control. Your proficiency in computer technology allows you to use a range of applications effectively, including the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Professional. You are knowledgeable about ISO 15189 requirements and their application in medical laboratory settings. With a keen eye for detail, you meticulously review documents and processes to uphold compliance and quality standards. Your strong coordination and organisational skills support effective scheduling, planning, and follow-through, while your interpersonal and communication strengths enable you to collaborate seamlessly across teams and departments.
Role Impact
You ensure that quality control and inter-laboratory data are accurately recorded and effectively managed, supporting our commitment to scientific excellence. You play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our digital QMS platform, ensuring that documentation is accessible, up to date, and aligned with compliance standards. By coordinating training initiatives and supporting certification processes, you help build future-ready capabilities. Your ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders ensures that quality-driven projects and daily operations run smoothly.
