Feltex is seeking an experienced

Quality Manager

to oversee the Quality Department reporting to the Technical Manager. To lead and manage the site quality management system on SharePoint and achieve the site objectives and meet all customer specific requirements.



To lead the quality function across all manufacturing and operational activities, ensuring full compliance to ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, VDA 6.3 and continuous improvements of quality performance.

Minimum Requirements

National Diploma in Quality Management or Engineering.



Trained as a 1st party internal ISO 9001:2015 & IATF 16949:2016 (System auditor), 1st party internal VDA 6.3 (Process auditor), 1st party internal VDA 6.5 (Product auditor), PSCR (Product Safety Conformance Representative)



Minimum 5 year's experience in automotive manufacturing.



Minimum 5 years experience in a Quality Managers role.



Proven experience in maintaining the IATF QMS.



Familiar with OEM specific requirements (Toyota, Ford, VW, MBSA, Nissan, BMW, Isuzu etc).



Experienced with Customer audits, 2nd party audits and 3rd party IATF audits.





Knowledge and skills:



In-depth knowledge and deep expertise of ISO 9001, IATF, VDA 6.3, all relevant customer specific requirements, Control Plans, FMEA (AIAG/VDA new version), Flow Charts, 8D problem solving, APQP



Proficient in Core Quality Tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, G8D Problem Solving, RCA.

Duties & Responsibilities

Quality Strategy:

Develop the Total Quality Strategic Plan and ensure implementation for the site. Provide Strategic and Change Leadership to the Total Quality Team.

Quality Management.

Manage requirements related to Quality and other standards (IATF 16949:2016'ISO 9001:2015 & VDA 6.3:2016). Drive Quality improvement into Manufacturing processes. Compile Quality training plans.

Quality Assurance

:


Manage and improve the site quality management system in alignment with Trim Head Office Quality and Customer Requirements. Serve as the primary customer quality liaison for all escalations, audits, and performance improvement actions. Drive internal audits and quality management reviews. Identify gaps and ensure timely implementation of corrective / preventive actions (CAPA). Analyse quality KPI's and ensure delivery of defined targets.

Quality Control

Ensure effective QC procedure throughout the manufacturing process (incoming receiving, process, final inspection). Oversee the correct use and calibration of measuring and monitoring equipment. Establish and manage Critical Control Points in the Process.

Internal Plant Audits (1st Party):

Conduct ISO 9001:2015 & IATF 16949:2016 (System audits) Conduct VDA 6.3 (Process audits) Conduct product audits Conduct layered audits Conduct Control Plan and FMEA audits Conduct new Project audits

External audits (2nd Party - Supplier):

Conduct supplier audits

Supply Quality Assurance (SQA)

Specify Supplier Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL's) (Tolerances, Drawing requirements, Tooling, PPM's etc.). Conduct supplier developments for underperforming supplier and suppliers who are not ISO/IATF certified

Data driven Quality Monitoring, information, and direct focussing:

Analyse quality performance data., scrap rates, defect trends, capability studies (CPK, CMK) and SPC charts Report performance metrics (e.g. PPM, customer complaints, internal defect rates) to Plant Top Management. Monthly quality reporting to Trim Head Office Quality Department Monthly quality management reviews Annual quality management reviews as per IATF requirements

Continuous Improvement:

Research and evaluate alternative Quality testing equipment. Identify, suggest, and implement corrective actions to improve Quality. Develop an updated Continuous Improvement Plan.

People Management:

Develop and coach the quality team, fostering a culture of process ownership, accountability, problem solving and continuous. Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels Ensure discipline is maintained in department (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.) * Resolve grievances and disputes
