Job Description


QUALITY MANAGER

To manage Quality Management Systems (BRMP) in Sharepoint and Processes to achieve plant specific objectives and meet Customer Specific Requirements (CSR).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Quality Strategy:
  • Develop the Total Quality Strategic Plan and ensure implementation for the Plant.
  • Provide Strategic and Change Leadership to the Total Quality Team.
  • Quality Management:
  • Manage Quality at Source (Green Areas).
  • Manage requirements related to Quality and other standards (IATF 16949:2016xe2x80x99ISO 9001:2015 & VDA 6.3:2016).
  • Drive Quality Empowerment into Manufacturing.
  • Facilitate action teams and improvement programxe2x80x99s to continually improve on identified risks.
  • Compile Quality Topics for Quality Awareness Training in conjunction with Training Department.
  • Plan and set up testing programmes to investigate Quality issues and recommend changes.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Maintain IATF 16949:2016 Certification.
  • Contribute to and improve on the operation of the Quality Assurance system and manage and implement the Quality Assurance system.
  • Develop and approve Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, etc., Plant specific.
  • Audits:
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate customer audits of the product and product capability.
  • Conduct internal System audits IATF 16949:2016 and Process audits
  • Assist with Product Audits.
  • Supply Quality Assurance (SQA):
  • Specify Supplier Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL's) (Tolerances, Drawing requirements, Tooling, PPM's etc.).
  • Analyse Supplier Performance (Product Quality, Special Status, etc.) and make recommendations.
  • Quality Control:
  • Establish and manage Critical Control Points in the Process.
  • Analyse the PPM's and defect trends and make recommendations.
  • Information Management and Direction Focussing:
  • Ensure data collection and analyses of data trends and focus areas for improvement drives.
  • Conduct Plant Management Reviews.
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP):
  • Review Quality Risks of APQP activities.
  • Ensure compliance to process and Customer Specific Requirements.
  • Approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) prior to Customer submission.
  • Provide input to the Contract Review Process.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Research and evaluate alternative Quality testing equipment.
  • Identify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve Quality.
  • Develop an updated Continuous Improvement Plan.
  • People Management:
  • Ensure an enabling climate/culture.
  • Ensure a safe, secure and legal working environment.
  • Manage individual, team and departmental performance to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Compile and update Performance Contracts and Individual Development Plans and facilitate individual career path planning.
  • Determine the training needs of the Department.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews and manage sub-standard performance.
  • Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
  • Ensure discipline is maintained in department (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
  • Resolve grievances and disputes
REQUIREMENTS
  • National Diploma Quality Management or equivalent Engineering qualification Additional Qualification
  • Trained Auditor IATF 16949:2016 & VDA 6.3:2016 Experiential
  • Minimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a similar role within the Automotive manufacturing environment.
