Job Description

New role is available for a Quality Engineer for our client in the Automotive Industry, based in Kariega Eastern Cape.
Skills
DOE, SPC, FMEA, and 8D.Electrical Engineering, or Polmanufacturing environment.Mechanical Engineering
Ensure that motor vehicle components consistently meet specification throughout their entire lifecycle by:

  • Initiating and managing the qualifying programs for new part introductions.
  • Driving continuous improvement through root-cause analysis of part deviations and implementing corrective actions at all lifecycle stages.
  • Testing and evaluating part performance against technical specifications.
  • Providing expert technical input on complete parts, including material selection and functional requirements.
  • Initiating and implementing design improvements to resolve complex part-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute the Qualifying Program for all new part introductions.
  • Identify, investigate, and correct deviations from specification to ensure consistent part performance.
  • Conduct performance testing and evaluation of components based on defined specifications.
  • Offer technical expertise related to materials, part functionality, and component integration.
  • Develop and propose design improvements for complex part-related challenges.
  • Initiate and process local and CKD supplier claims when required.
Qualification Requirements
  • National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Polymer Engineering.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Competencies
  • Strong understanding of motor vehicle components, their functions, specifications, manufacturing processes, and testing methods.
  • Solid technical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
  • Proficiency in Quality Tools such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, and 8D.
  • Working knowledge of Pro CKD processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present at all levels internally and externally.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally at short notice.
  • Valid driver's license required.
