An integrated producer, packer, processor, exporter and importer of fresh fruit, vegetables and nuts is recruiting a Junior Quality Controller. Their mission is to grow, prepare and supply healthy and beautiful South African produce to the rest of the world.Brief description of Key Performance areas:

• Quality checking all products received at the packhouse, following a checklist, and ensuring all according to company and clients' standards and specifications.
• Identifying issues and problems with finished products.
• Assessing the quality of product and its packaging, as well as monitoring packing environment to maintain high standard of the produce.
• Must accurately perform inspections, this includes measurements, and tests, ensuring compliance with quality specifications and acceptance criteria
• Possess good analytical skills to determine probable causes of product defects and determine appropriate corrective actions when required
• Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests using precision tools, equipment, and instruments to verify product dimensions.
• Communicating feedback to the internal team and suppliers.

Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge required:

• Minimum Grade 12, must have passed Maths. An applicable tertiary qualification such as ND Food Technology, Agriculture or Microbiology will be an advantage
• Prior quality control experience preferred
• Understanding of quality control procedures and standards
• Proficiency in inspection methodologies
• Basic statistical analysis capabilities
• Knowledge of food safety principles
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong analytical abilities
• Effective problem-solving approach
• Clear communication (verbal and written)
• Collaborative teamwork mindset
• Adaptability to changing priorities and requirement.
