DUR00006 - Quality Control & Nursery Manager - Eastern Cape
Purpose of the Job:
To manage & oversee nursery operations and quality control processes for the client's farm.
Required Qualifications
- A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in nursery management or quality control in a similar role.
- Experience with Spekboom propagation and planting is highly advantageous.
- Encourage a culture of cooperation and environmental responsibility.
- Keep thorough records of all nursery operations and production results.
- Plan and oversee the propagation, planting, and maintenance of Spekboom and other indigenous species.
- Manage the nursery team, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to production targets.
- Report progress, difficulties, and suggestions for improvement on a regular basis to management.
- Develop and implement quality control measures for all planting and nursery activities
- Maintain optimal growing conditions, including irrigation, pest control, and soil management.
- Train and mentor nursery staff on propagation techniques and quality standards.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
- Adaptability to work in a remote, farm-based environment.
