Job Summary
Our client is looking for both Junior and Mid-Senior Quality Controllers to join their team in Pietermaritzburg. These roles are ideal for individuals with experience in food manufacturing-particularly within the baking sector. The successful candidates will play a key role in maintaining high-quality standards in the production of baked goods such as cereals, biscuits, bread, or pretzels. Candidates must be fluent in English and based in KwaZulu-Natal, as relocation is not considered.
Responsibilities:
Conduct and oversee quality control processes during production
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards
Record and report non-conformances and assist with corrective actions
Maintain documentation and assist with audit readiness
Collaborate with production teams to promote consistent quality output
Operate and/or monitor specialized baking equipment (e.g., Jetzone ovens - advantageous)
Requirements:
Experience in a food manufacturing or baking environment (e.g., cereals, pretzels, biscuits, or bread)
For Junior role: foundational quality control experience and a willingness to learn
For Mid-Senior role: proven track record in quality assurance within a similar industry
Familiarity with Jetzone ovens is highly advantageous
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Excellent communication skills in English
Candidates must be currently based in KwaZulu-Natal Benefits:
