o A Quality Engineer in the Chemicals industry plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of chemical products and processes. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems, and identifying risk and resolving quality issues.
Develop and implement QMS in accordance with industry standards regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, cGMP).
Define quality policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with the QMS.
Continuously improve the QMS through process optimization and risk management
Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and equipment to ensure they meet quality standards.
Develop and implement sampling plans and test methods.
Analyze test data and identify potential quality issues.
Investigate and resolve deviations from specifications.
Identify and investigate root causes of quality problems.
Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address quality issues.
Track and monitor the effectiveness of CAPAs.
Prepare and maintain quality documentation, such as reports, procedures, and records.
Generate quality reports and metrics to track performance and identify trends.
Communicate quality information to stakeholders, including management, customers, and regulatory agencies.
Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and sales, to ensure quality throughout the organization.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on quality matters.
Participate in cross-functional teams to improve processes and products.
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulatory requirements Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
Implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance quality and efficiencies.
Participate in product development and design reviews.
Provide technical support to production and other departments.
Conduct training on quality-related topics.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, EPA, OSHA).
Maintain awareness of changes in regulations and update QMS accordingly.
Prepare for and participate in regulatory audits.

Qualifications & Experience
Grade 12.
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 2 of years' experience in quality assurance in the chemical industry
Quality Management Systems Development and Implementation
Knowledge of the chemical industry and the quality management principles and practices (example ISO 9001).
