Job Description


The Quality Assurance Officer, based in the University Planning and Quality Assurance Unit, will support Quality Assurance activities by assisting faculties and service departments in preparation for internal and external reviews, institutional audits and program approval processes. The role involves servicing University-wide structures and supporting the monitoring of Quality Assurance Management Systems in the University.Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of an Honours Degree or NQF level 8 Qualification. Preferably a Masters degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality assurance in higher education.
  • Experience in programme accreditation, internal and external reviews, and institutional audits.
  • Knowledge of higher education legislative frameworks, regulations and academic quality assurance processes in higher education.
  • Additional requirements
  • Knowledge of the ITS system.
  • Ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good level of writing and analytical skills.
  • Report writing experience.
  • High level organisational skills.
Core responsibilities include:
  • Assist in the managing and monitoring of Universitys Programme and Qualification Mix (PQM).
  • Assist in extracting, analysing and manipulating data from various applicable platforms (ITS, DHET, CHE and SAQA) to serve the universitys internal and external structures.
  • Assist faculties to compile documentation for programme accreditation.
  • Assist in external review processes across the university and UFHs internal Academic and Departmental Review Processes.
  • Provide a professional service to university-wide Quality Assurance structures.
  • Promote quality assurance awareness amongst students.
  • Compile an annual report on the activities of the university-wide quality assurance structures for Institutional Quality Assurance Committee and Senate.
