Job Description

Our client who specializes in providing Professional Plumbing services, is looking for A Qualified Plumber to join their team based in Brackenfell, Cape Town

The Applicant can hold the following attributes and trade qualifications:
Plumber, Pipe Fitter, Welder, Pump Service Technician, Water industry Product Knowledge, water filtration, solar systems, and boreholes.
Working on a rotation basis with regards to off weekends and standby, it is a 24/7 plumbing company. Should there be an emergency, staff will be expected to work. They work with livestock in a farm/industrial setting, and should there be an emergency that is not attended to as soon as possible might result in fatality.

Minimum requirements
A valid driverxe2x80x99s license is a must.
The applicant must be committed, and have sober habits.
No criminal record.
Medical and drug testing will be done before an employment offer will be provided.
After testing candidates will be required to at least spend a day (preferably 3 days) with one of the Foremen to get a feel and idea of work/type of work that needs to be done.
Every candidate must have his own basic hand tools. The company will provide power tools etc.
The person must preferably stay in the Northern Suburbs.
The company does not offer a 13th check, but they do offer a gift voucher where possible to show appreciation. It is not guaranteed and is purely based on company performance and managementxe2x80x99s discretion.

Remuneration
R16 000.00 xe2x80x93 R23 000.00 negotiable basic salary per month (cost to company) depending on years of experience, qualifications, and overall background.
Monthly incentive scheme payout scheme (10% of basic salary). (This will only be valid after a 3-month probation period).
The successful candidate will be responsible for his own medical scheme- and retirement fund contributions.
A company vehicle (for company use only) will be provided. Due to standby and emergencies, the Plumber is allowed to take the vehicle home and come to the store or site the next morning. The vehicle must be stored safely in a garage or at least behind locked gates.
A diesel card will also be provided.
A company cell phone and sim card will be provided.
Branded company clothing will be provided.

Basic salary (Normal Time)
The basic salary paid per month (Cost to Company) is based on Normal time worked not exceeding 45 hours per week or 180 hours per month.
180 x Normal hours from Monday to Saturday.

Overtime
All hours worked over 180 will be paid 1.5 overtime (or depending on basic salary person get. See overtime section below.
According to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, if the employeexe2x80x99s salary equates to more than R211 596.30 per year, but less than R300,000 per year, then overtime will be paid at 1 x (one time) the hourly rate.
If the employee needs to work on a Public Holiday or Sundays, he will be paid at 2 x (double) his normal rate per hour.
IMPORTANT: All overtime must be discussed with and approved by the General Manager or technical consultant before the hours will be worked. No overtime shall be paid by the employer if overtime is worked without prior discussion and agreement between the employee and the employer.

Standby Allowance
Where the employer requires an employee to be available on standby during off-duty hours, an employee shall be entitled to a standby allowance payment of one hourxe2x80x99s pay at the employeexe2x80x99s basic salary, except on his days of rest. A standby schedule will be provided. This will also work on a rotational basis.
Should there be a call-out while on standby the one-hour standby payment still applies. The hours then spent on site will be worked out and paid accordingly.
No standby payment shall be granted if an employee is unable to report for duty when required.
