Job Description

PRIMARY SCOPE:

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

Due to the high amount of risk pertaining to this job, electricians must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions. The ideal candidate must also be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems. The goal will be to produce and maintain well-functioning electrical connections to minimize the probability of accidents and maximize usability of electricity in all facilities. Responsible for electrical maintenance and electrical breakdowns. Support the Technical Manager with electrical installations on the machines and buildings.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, machinery and other electrical systems. Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systems. Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.). Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components. Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them. Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units. General housekeeping responsibilities.

Conform to relevant Health and Safety requirements and procedures.

Any other duties that may be requested of him/her pertaining to his/her grade.

Supports the principle of the company's driving force i.e. profitable Growth.

Knowledge of Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Minimum Grade 12

5 years' experience- completed Electrical Apprenticeship With a Electrical Trade Test Pass

Knowledge Requirements

Computer Literate, Electrical, Mechanical and basic technical skills. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability. Demonstrate ability to use electrical and hand tools and electrical drawings.

FMCG experience advantages

5 years' experience in manufacturing a must.

Must have a valid code 08 drivers' license + own transport (for attending callouts)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R185,00 - R190,00 per hour
