Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise the activities of QC inspectors assigned to various production stages
• Ensure quality control protocols and inspection checklist are consistently followed
• Coordinate with Production Supervsiors to resolve in-line quality issues without causing delays
• Record and escalate non-conformances and repeat defects to the QC Manager for analysis and action
• Conduct regular audits and spot checks to verify adherence to standards.
• Area specific oversign in:
• Machine Department
• Frame Up
• Sewing
• Foam-Up
• Upholstery
• In process defect detection rate
• First pass yield per department
• Number of repeated quality issues per department
• Compliance with inspection schedules and reporting accuracy
• Timeliness and effectiveness of corrective actions
• Team performance and productivity

Experience and Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12) minimum
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality control with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a furniture or upholstery manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes across multiple stages
• Ability to interpret production drawings, work instructions and quality specifications
• Competent in using inspection tools and documents QC results
• Skilled in problem solving, root cause analysis, and cross functional communication
• Experience in training and mentoring QC staff in a fast-paced environment
