Job Purpose

The Senior Purchaser will report the Head of Procurement based in Midrand.

As the Senior Purchaser you will manage the sourcing and tender process for the business. Support the Head of Procurement in conducting local and international tenders in an effective, transparent and professional manner according to Bridgestone's procurement policy and procedures. Ensure that quality products are purchased at a competitive price and delivered on time to minimize any delays in production.

Main responsibilities

1. Sourcing and Tender Management.

• Development of commodity strategy and plan
• Conduct spend analysis and develop category and savings plans.
• Manage the end to end tender process.
• Ensure alignment with Bridgestone procurement policy and procedures.

2. Savings Implementation.

• Deliver on the savings plan and track on results
• Manage the sourcing process to ensure savings target is me
• Understand and Manage TCO
• Understanding of Incoterms, Exchange Rate, Forward Cover
• Negotiate and manage supplier Payment terms

3. Supplier Relationship Management.

• Manage Pricing negotiations and Price Locks with suppliers according to policy and procedures
• Manage Supplier lead times and performance according to policy and procedures
• Develop supplier KPIs with stakeholders and cross functional teams
• Ensure supplier performs according to KPIs and expectations

4. Supplier Performance Management.

• Coordinate and ensure monthly supplier meetings are taking place
• Manage and Report back on supplier performance on a monthly basis

5. Stakeholder Management.

• Understanding of Stakeholder requirements and ensure effective delivery and turnaround time
• Effective communication with Stakeholders
• Manage effective cross functional teams throughout the sourcing process

6. Contracts Management.

• Ensure suppliers have contracts/SLAs in place following sourcing activities
• Ensure Contracts are tracked and reviewed as required
• Manage the contracts register and update all stakeholders
• Ensure effective and measurable KPIs are included in contracts

7. Vendor management

• Manage the vendor onboarding process, by completing the due diligence on potential new supplier/ service providers prior to approval and registering on the ERP system
• Ensure BBBEE reports are completely on a monthly basis
• Ensure BBBEE certificate are obtained weekly and the ERP system updated accordingly
