:Of 100 children who start school in South Africa, only 37 will pass matric and just 4 will earn a degree. At Huddle, we're working to change that by making rigorous, joyful teaching accessible to all through blended classrooms.About the Role xf0x9fx9ax80We're looking for a detail-obsessed and highly organised Publishing Editor to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of our learner workbooks, printed materials and digital resources. You'll sit at the intersection of academic content, design, and delivery - playing a critical role in making sure the learning materials that reach our classrooms are accurate, beautiful, and on time.This is the perfect role for someone who thrives on managing multiple moving parts, has a sharp eye for detail, and is excited to shape joyful, user-friendly resources that drive real learning outcomes. It is a role that combines project management, proofreading and publishing. You'll work closely with our Product team and external partners to align content, coordinate design and printing, and manage quality control.We're looking for someone who:

Job Details xf0x9fx8fx86Start date: As soon as possible!Location: Pinelands, Cape Town (our Hybrid model includes 3 office days and 2 remote working days per week)

Reporting to: Academic Lead
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:00-17:00Key Responsibilitiesxf0x9fx93x98 Workbook Process Management
  • Coordinate the full workbook production cycle from planning to delivery
  • Manage the termly workbook calendar alongside the Product team
  • Align workbook development timelines with curriculum goals
xf0x9fxa4x9d Liaison and Coordination
  • Act as the key point of contact between Product, DTP, and print partners
  • Oversee layout and formatting with in-house or outsourced designers
  • Manage printing logistics, quotations, orders, and deliveries
  • Review and approve proofs for quality assurance
xf0x9fx93x9d Editing & Copy Proofing
  • Edit and proofread workbook content for clarity and consistency, and manage any outsourced partners involved in this process when necessary
  • Apply Huddle's editorial standards and style guide
  • (Bonus) Draft or adapt content where needed
xf0x9fx93xa6 Logistics, Storage & Archiving
  • Assist with managing inventory, sorting, and delivery of workbooks
  • Maintain accurate records of versions and edits
xf0x9fxa7xbe Support for Printed Resources
  • Handle ad hoc printing needs for the product team (e.g., assessments, classroom materials)
  • Ensure consistency between all printed materials
xf0x9fx94x8d Research & Continuous Improvement
  • Study top global workbook examples and apply best practices to ours
  • Balance quality with cost-efficiency and seek creative ways to do more with less
  • Identify opportunities to improve the design and usability of learner materials
Requirements:Education & Experience
  • Experience in publishing, project coordination, or educational content production
  • Proficient in MS Office and DTP tools (InDesign, Canva, etc.)
  • Strong background in editing, proofreading, and managing print processes
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines
  • (Bonus) Copyrighting or instructional content writing skills
  • (Bonus) Ability to independently create DTP-ready files
