Duties and responsibilities:
  • Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in Public Law.
  • Provide study leadership at postgraduate level.
  • Initiate, sustain and provide quality research outputs.
  • Participate in community engagement initiatives.
  • Recruit and supervise postgraduate students.
  • Attract external funding.
  • Perform general administration duties as applicable at university level.
Inherent requirements:Senior Lecturer
  • A relevant LLD / PhD on NQF Level 10.
  • Proven experience in the presentation of papers/posters at national scholarly conferences.
  • An NRF rating or demonstrated potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
  • Proven experience in supervision of graduated master's degree students.
  • A proven research record of relevant publication/s in peer reviewed national and international accredited scientific journals.
Associate Professor
  • A relevant LLD / PhD on NQF Level 10.
  • Proven experience in the presentation of research papers at national and international conferences.
  • Proven national recognition for specialist expertise and research leadership in a specific scientific area of scholarship.
  • An NRF rating or demonstrated potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
  • A proven research record of relevant publications in national and international accredited journals
  • Proven experience in the supervision of graduated master's and doctoral degree students.
Professor
  • A relevant LLD / PhD on NQF Level 10.
  • Proven international recognition for specialist expertise and research leadership in a particular area of academic scholarship.
  • An NRF rating or demonstrated potential for obtaining an NRF rating.
  • Demonstrated successful supervision of graduated master's-degree and preferably graduated doctoral students.
  • Proven experience of presentation of papers at national and international scholarly conferences.
Recommendations:
  • With regard to the positions of Associate Professor and Professor an NRF rating will be an advantage.
